Forest Lake Association Board Meeting Minutes
October 8, 2019
West Cumberland Fire Barn
Meeting called to order by Janene at 6:36 PM.
Present: Paula, Greg and Ellie, John and Janene, Jan, Debbie H, and Ted Secretary Report
Paula read the minutes from the last meeting. Minor adjustments were made. Ted made a motion to accept the minutes. Greg seconded the motion. All voted in favor.
Treasurer Report
- Ellie reported that the account reconciled bank balance at Sept 30, 2019 was $29, 592.09.
- The break down includes FLA fund of $11,385.66
- Watershed survey fund still at $4,206.43.
- Remediations funds at $14,000 with $7,000 of that dispersed for partial payment for remediation of Lakeside Drive.
- Bank balance at October 8, 2019 is $22,592.09
- Pending a deposit of $150 of road dues equals $22,742.09 as of Oct 8
- (membership year is July 1-June 30)
Ted made a motion to accept the report. Debbie seconded the motion. All voted in favor.
Meeting Schedule for the next year (2020)
- February 11th-open to the public
- April14th
- June 9th-open to the public
- July 18th -Annual meeting

PayPal update : Debbie
- Debbie reported that recently she and Ellie tried a PayPal verification but something on PayPal’s end kicked it back. Debbie is dealing with Paypal and they can reinstate it, therefore it should be all set up by this week.
- We will initially use PayPal for membership dues.
- Debbie also has set up Gsuites which, for non profits, is free and has unlimited emails.
- Debbie will set it up emails and groups ex. president@forestlakeme.org then will have a correspondence record
- We will be using Mailchimp for bulk emails.
- Ellie maintains a spreadsheet for email addresses will share the spreadsheet with Debbie.
Halloween Event :Paula and Greg
- Paula, Greg and Antonio held a Halloween Event Committee meeting last month regarding the details.
- Debbie has made a pdf of the event poster.
- We will distribute them and smaller postcards throughout the communities and including their town halls. Press releases will also go to the Cumberland Crier, Gray’s website, the Forecaster, etc.
- It will be a suggested donation event.
- We need to check the capacity of the hall with the town of Cumberland.
- Debbie will online order at Staples of 15 posters and 75 4 ups.
- Janeene will check out Sweetser for donations.
- We will use PayPal for those with no cash.
- Antonio is self sufficient for his equipment, etc.
- Ted will make a plexiglass cash box.
DEP Grant award
- Did get money from the grant- about $32,000. It needs to be signed off by Heather Hunt and Wendy and then it needs to be decided which high impact sites in Gray need to be addressed first.
Lakeside Drive road work update: Ted and Greg
- Ted reported that Scott (president of Lakeside Road Association) will take care of the sites including Cypress Hill.
- They don’t get balance until signed off of by the Windham engineer
- We currently don’t have a written maintenance agreement but hope to.
Discussion
- At the next meeting we will discuss the Friends of Forest Lake Facebook page and the dues structure.
A motion to adjourn was made by Ted at 7:40. Jan seconded the motion. All voted in favor.
